Its solubility and fat similar to insoluble in water, soluble in , chloroform and other solvents. Cholesterol is an important and indispensable material for animal tissue cells. It not only participates in the formation of cell membranes, but also is a raw material for the synthesis of bile acids, vitamin D and hormones. Cholesterol can also be converted into bile acids, , 7-dehydrocholesterol by metabolism, and 7-dehydrocholesterol will be converted to vitamin D3 by UV irradiation, so cholesterol is not harmful to humans.
