Rupatadine Fumarate

The Pharmacology and Mechanism of Action: Rupatadine is a long-acting but not potent histamine antagonist that acts on H1 receptors; it acts against platelet-activating factors as well. Platelet activating factor in the body when there is inflammation will play a mediating role. Like histamine, it can also cause increased vascular permeability, which may constitute the cause of excessive bronchial expansion. Rupatadine inhibits cell division caused by immune and non-immune stimuli and also inhibits the breakdown of systemic proteins.
