Sophoricoside, also known as Huai Huang Glycoside, Huai genus Glycoside, and Dye Lignin-4 '- Glucoside, is a compound with a specific chemical structure. Its English name is Sophoricoside, with a molecular formula of C21H20O10 and a molecular weight of 432.37.
The physical properties of sophocarpine are unique, with a melting point above 285 degrees Celsius and presenting a solid form. The main source of this compound is the fruit of the locust tree, a leguminous plant in nature, commonly known as locust horn. In addition, it also exists in the stems of Nepalese yellow flowers and in the broad leaved milk scented leaves of lacquer trees in the family Anacardiaceae.
The standard specification for sophocarpine is that the sophocarpine content should not be less than 98%, and it is usually detected and quality controlled by high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC).
