      • Lignin: A byproduct of the wood pulp industry (paper manufacturing).

      • Guaiacol: Derived from petrochemicals or other sources.

      • Fermentation: Using microorganisms and feedstocks like rice bran or ferulic acid (from plants like corn or rice). This can be marketed as "natural" in some regions.
